I have a guppy that I know deep down it is going to die very soon, despite my best efforts to keep her alive.
Should I either keep her alive in hopes that in some great miracle she survies even though I know it will be a cold day in hell before that happens.
Or should I just put her out of her missery?
I am torn between the 2. I know deep down she isnt going to make it and I should put her out of her missery, but at the same time I just cant give up hope for her. Whout should I do end her suffering or hold on to hope and pray she pulls threw?:(

What's wrong with her?

There are many opinions on this, and on the manner of killing the fish. What it comes down to, is you have to decide what you feel comfortable with. I've put fish down, and given others a tank of their own and prayers. Sometimes they pull through, sometimes they don't. Just depends.

I do not recommend feeding sick fish to another fish. There is a very real possibility of spreading the ailment to the predator--not a good thing.

I have to ditto OrionGirl,

I normally will move the fish to a tank of it's own, that way I can monitor the progress much better, also with a sick fish the other tank mates take notice, and don't help in the recovery and if I'm not sure what's going on I want to make sure not to spread the illness to others by nipping, or simply being in the same tank.

I have had fish that seemed to be at the point of no return, and suddenly recover fully, and some that just never pulled through, so I understand your dilemma, and you have to do what you think is best.

Good luck...
