What to do with all these fish!

If you do nothing but get bigger tank, you guppies will only multiply at a higher rate. Here are your options as I see them, rated by my preference:

1) Keep the fry with their parents and reduce the number of places to hide.
2) Set up a chichlid tank and use the guppies as feeders.
3) Take the extra guppies to your LFS.
4) Euthanize the extra guppies.

My Girlfriend won't let me use them as feeders, I origionaly got them thinking I could feed them to my Netws and Firebelly toads, but I don't want to find out what she will do to me if I decide to go this route!

I think I can controll the snail population simply by removing the egg sacs, but so far I choose to leave them They are good at eating algae and I think I can sell them when they get older and larger.


Anyone in Long Beach Area want some free Mystery snails?

I think I will get a larger tank anyways, I'll just get the tall version of what I have now, might need a larger filter but I'm not sure. Even the plants are limited by the short tank.

Try to convence her you're creating a sustainable ecosystem. It would make your Netws and Firebelly toads will be both healthier and happier while preventing the overpopulation of guppies.

Unfortunately, the girls in my household object to raising feeders as well. My oldest daughter has declared she will no longer eat shrimp about a week after I brought home glass shrimp. Not exactly my intended result.
