couple of months ago i was given by a friend who had stopped keeping fish a male 4 inch bristlenose pleco, i placed hm into a spare tank so that i could keep my eye on him check he was ok etc.
after couple weeks i moved him into my 40g planted tank. he seemed very happy, eating veg, waffers etc, always moving. but because he was so greedy he chased my corys and clown pleco all over the tank after food, he stressed out my corys that much i lost 4.
i decided to setup an old 10g just for him, he hid all the time, so i got some tetras to keep him company, seems now to be better.
problem now is that i'm getting a new 60g tank and moving my 40g into 60g and turning 40g into african cichlid tank. and i have no room for the 10g.
my options are to put the pleco into cichlid tank -
pros - keep algae down, doesn't harm anymore corys
cons - high ph of 8.2ish, no bogwood or plants just rocks.
or move him into new 60g
cons - might stress out corys and clown again.
pros - right ph, plants for him, keep algae down etc.
option 3 sell him
cons - i don't have lovely pleco anymore
pros - i don't have to worry where to put him.
should i risk him in 60g and hope the bigger tank gives all fish enough room.
or will he be happy enough in the 60g.
cheers shekoi
