I have some java moss and guppy grass tied to driftwood in my 29 gallon. It's waaay overgrown, so I'm thinking of putting some in my 10 gallon. There won't be any driftwood in there, though.

I'm thinking of just letting the guppy grass float. Will it stay together? For the moss, I had some plastic craft mesh, but I'm not really sure what to do. I don't want to do a whole wall really.

Ideas?

So put some between 2 pieces of mesh, and put it on the gravel?

Ok, so I went with the smushing it between 2 pieces route. It's floating. Will it continue to float, do I need to weight the mesh down with something? What should I use if I need to?

For my moss, I just use a couple of small stones to weigh it down to keep it in one place. It then does it all on it's own as it spreads out.

It's better to plant several stems of guppy grass like snoopy65 suggested and pluck away the top portion as it grows taller. If you let it float, it will branch out alot more and start to shoot out lots of thin white roots. Soon, it'll become a big floating mess and block out light.
