I recently aquired a 55 gallon fish tank , 48in long 16 in tall and 12 in wide, what would be my options with the angelfish and what coule be their tankmates, so far i know iam good with having two banjo catfish and two spotted rapheals for the bottom of the tank, would the cherrybarbs be able to go with the angels, i know a betta wont be able to cohabitate with angels.

Also how would i know what color pattern is called what and what would be a good place for me to get names of the color forms with pictures.

thanks

Would this work?

Six angel fish , 6-8 cherry barbs and 2 banjo catfish, 2 striped rapheals.

temp range 75-86f

sand bottom snails galore.

I wouldn't. I hear about angelfish eating neon tetras and cherry barbs are tiny barbs.

Just to let you know 48x16x12 only works out to 40 gallons. So you'll probably want to rethink your stocking all together. I don't know much about angels so someone else can help you on that.

yah your right, math and me don't get along, but i remeasured and it is 18 inches tall so rounded up it is a 45 gallon tank.

Alright cherry barbs, at least my cherry barbs are two times bigger than neon tetras, and they don't nip, and the females are even bigger but only by a smidge.

So now that my tank size is correct should I do four angel fish?

p.s. banjo cats and stripped rapheals barely move at night and in the day might as well be called statues, if you can see them.

Alright here is my plan i'll get four angelfsh for my 45 gallon long tank, and get a few more cherry barbs, to have a total of six barbs, and my catfish 2 banjos and 2 spotted rapheals. will leave it at four angelfish unless a pair forms, if a pair forms i will donate the other two to my lfs for some fish food.
