I have two juvenile goldfish in my 15H right now.. a beautiful white/orange Pearlscale and a robust Red Cap Oranda. Everyday I'm finding them to be more curious, alert, and interesting fish. They've been together for months and are always with each other.
On Christmas, I expect a 29 gallon with which I have had many ideas. Now, I have to decide what to do with my friends. I'm not keeping them in the 15 (knowing full well this would be too small for both). So I want to give them as much space as possible. I have 2 commons in a 20 gallon that I helped rescue from our outdoor pond this autumn and I am going to be giving them away soon.
So that leaves me with a multitude of ideas. Should I keep one in the 15 and transfer the other into the 20 or should I put them both in the 29? I'd have no problem with doing that but I'd like your input into this. Both are now about 3.5" long and I want to keep them happy and growing. How dentrimental (if at all) would separation be as they've been with each other for months?
Thanks guys, and Merry Christmas.
