okay im turning my 90 into a FW tank and my 55 is a SW FO. I want to take my LS out of the 90 and put it in the 55 since the sand is very good. my 55 has play sand in it. the 90 has been up and running for about a year. I have a snowflake eel, cc star, sand star, pencil urchin, and bunch of snails. About how long after i make the switch before my inhabitants can go in? can i leave them in the main tank and still take out the sand? Or just give me some advice on what to do pleas!

any help would be greatly appreciated!

stephen

i would take the sand, rock, and try and try to fill the 55 up with as much water as possible from the 90. if its not a rush though, get the tank set up with the sand, use some water from the 90, and just watch the tank to make sure it doesnt cycle.

the 55 is full of water from the 90. over the past month every time i do a water change the old water from the 90 goes to the 55. the 55 is full of water and play sand but i want the LS.

In case moving the sand causes some stuff to die off, I would watch for ammonia nitrite for about a week after moving it. Then maybe slowly move livestock to the 55, starting with your least favorite.
