Well the tank has been set up for around 2-3 weeks, added the limestone today. Fake plants for now, but as time goes, I will slowly add live plants, but depends too on what i get. So will prettty much stay the way it is.

I have no idea whatt I want to stock it with. Was planning on a puffer, now looking at Neolamprologus caudopunctatus, but not totally sure?

Any ideas or suggestions?

Remember limesttone, so harder water!

Yea I think I'm gonna go with four Neolamprologus caudopunctatus.

my oscars are in a 12ft and a 4ft

all my fish are in 4ft or above ,so i say its ok to have neons and guppies and small fish like that but not cichlids get a few dewarfs in but no more the 3 or 4 for the fishes sake think about it ;)

Did you say that you have Black Beauty "sand" in the tank. That's the coal slag from power plants, right? That's what I use everyday to sandblast metal parts and I've often wondered if it's okay to use in an aquarium. Details on the Black Beauty?

Well my lfs has it in 50lbs bags or by the lb. I dipped it out of a bin by the lb, and it was called black beauty. I have no idea what the bag looks like or the brand name. Sorry I can't help, but it did say not for community fish, so I guess it raises the PH, as does my limestone. I'm having trouble maintaining a high PH. Any suggestions? Is it because my tank is still cycling?
