What to stock a 29gal. with?

Btw, SP, I believe regular glass cats get 6", but minors get only 3", which would make sense of the added "minor".

-DP

I just did a quick search on glass cats and saw the 6" is why I wrote that .... I did notice after I posted that the minor do stay smaller.

So with that cleared up...

1 Angel
1 Raphel (since you have it and it needs out of your 10g)
6 Glass Cat Minors
6 Cories

Or either of the ones Dwarf Puffers posted would probably work too.... But if you went with Otos you might want to wait until the tank is more matured so there would be some algae for them to feed on.

Ah, thanks, forgot about that

I like Dp's second list. JMO though

Thanks

I like his second one to but I want an angelfish. I also heard that GBR can be hard to keep according to Dr.Foster&Smith.com.

SO what are some good suggestions on this (its just a plan, so feel free to add or take away, but I like to get some ideas very soon b.c. I want me some fish:woot:, b/c I have waited over 20 days:popcorn: for my tank to cycle and its fisnished :) )

  • Top: GBR (2) (Not sure if they swim at the top, please help me on what to add to the top), Glass Catfish Minor (6):help2:
  • Middle: Angel (1)
  • Bottom: Cories (6) Raphel (1)
Feel free to make some suggestions, the sooner the better b.c. me want fish:raspberry:.

How about a pair of angels and six - eight cory's. Then, you can add a small school of neons/cardinals. The problem is that the neons/cardinals need to be added while the angels are still small so they grow up together and the neons/cardinals do not end up as lunch. Size and tempermanent are crucial, do not want fin nippers with angels. You may want to consider an amazon biotope tank.

I know some will say 2 angels are too much for this size tank, but if you take excellent care of the tank they will work out beautifully.

a 29 is fine for 2 angels..most of my pairs are in 29's some with tank mates
I keep a pair of BNB's in one 29 with a pair of wild Scalare(Peru)

I keep a single BN male with a proven pair in another 29 with 6 black neons.I have 2 more pairs in other 29's
they are plenty of room for the angels.

I have 2 pair (breeders) in a 55 with a pair of bn'sI do 2 wc per week a minimum of 30% unless they have a spawn on..

I keep Bolivian rams with a single in another.

Is this ok, Im not real sure if these are considered top fish or not?:help2: Can anyone give me some ideas b.c. I will be leaving in about 1 1/2 hours to go get some fish for the tank...so please help A.S.A.P.
Thanks in advance!!!

GBR's pretty much hang on the bottom.

hatchets are an active top water fish(they do tend to jump so have a snug fitted top)

GBR's are more of a bottom dweller..... Mine usually stay from mid tank and lower. They will come up and get flake food toward the top at feeding time...but they have learned if they dont then the bloodfin tetras I have try to hog it all :)

I just finished stocking my 29g, here's what i have.

1 koi angel
12 cardinal tetras
6 peppered cories
couple snails

They seem to work well together
