Ok, so i just lost my rubber lip pleco this morning so i went up to the local petsmart to get another one. but i saw this one, in the same tank as the rubber lips. but to me he just not look like the one i had.
is this a rubber lip or did i get another kind?
Thanks
I bought a rubberlip like that also and was curious about what the difference in markings signified, species or sexual dimorphism? Although I've had a bronze and black one for about six months now, the white spotted one died after two weeks. Not sure if I got a lemon or what, was active and looked perfectly healthy until one day it was dead. The rubberlips were in two different tanks though so maybe the white spot just didn't have enough to eat in its tank. Anyway I'm also curious to see if anyone knows what the reason is for the color differences.
Can't be certain (so many different species)! 'bettlejuice' could be right. It also seems to favor L-123. Check www.planetcatfish.com my eyes are blury from scanning all those 'cats'!!!
after checking more closely myself, to me it looks more like the L123. mine has spots all over it, not the stripes. the first rubber lip that i had had the stripes, this one is totally different.
