What type of wood should a stand for a 100 gallon be? I was thinking 4x4" or will 2x4" work? Or does the width of the wood depend on the type?

hmm what will be the least expensive? What about timber like andy used?

Okay thanks alot germanman!!! Well it's bed time for me, good night everyone

I usually just double up 2x4s, pine or douglas fir. Ensure the the upper horizontals rest on the vertical supports is a big key to adequately supporting the tank's weight. Minimize any type of butt joint or face to face connections.
