What else can I feed my fish? I feed mine just flake food. Please do name some vegetable that would already be in the house, so please don't say brine shrimp. I tried feeding them lettuce but they didn't care for it at all and didn't eat it.

Have you tried blanching a peeled slice of zucchini or cucumber? Even broccoli.
Just nuke it in some water (I use conditioned or tank water) until it boils a bit. Let it cool well and then just drop it in. Blanching it will make it sink too. My fish all love it! But remove any uneaten stuff within a day.

Okay, I guess I can try with cucumber. You sure my tetra fish and my swordtail wouild enjoy it?

I've only had luck with cucumber, but I've never done anything special with it, just sliced off a piece and stuck it in a veggie clip

Try getting some frozen 'fresh' foods as well.. mine go mad for it. I've also recently found bloodworm that's in a gel - so you don't have to keep refrigerated. Again - the ADFs and fish go mental when they see it..

Take a frozen pea or two and heat it them up in some water long enough to thaw them out. Slice the outer skin of the pea and squeeze the inside parts out. There should be two halves in there. Take a little time and cut it up into some pieces small enough for your fish to swallow. You can make sure they like it before you decide to put too much but mine just ravish the things. I like to do this once in a while because people on this board have suggested that, in addition to a varied diet, it helps to keep their digestive tracks in working order.

Actually, none of your fish are going to be particularly enthralled with fresh veggies. They'll likely nibble at it a bit, but won't attack it like, say, a rainbow shark or bristlenose would. So, I'd go with smaller amounts, and either be willing to leave them in the tank a bit longer to allow them to soften, or boil or freeze them to soften them a bit. I still wouldn't expect them to eat more than a small portion--a dime sized piece, in maybe 2 days.

Yeah i tried the cucumber and most of them backed away from it, lol. One neon took a nibble of it but thats it. Meh Lettuce and cumcumber doesn't work.

True, but my gourami and Electric Yellow labs enjoy a piece of broccoli or zucchini. My snail likes the cukes/zucchini too and my pleco was nuts for it.
