2 days ago I noticed one of my Red Eyed Tetras was starting to bloat up, its right side as bulging out. I have read about constipated neons exploding here, so out of fear I did not feed the fish for 2 days, well the good news is today when I looked for the bloated fish I could not identify which one was bloated, and yes the count of the fish was the same as the day before, but the fish was very bloated last night more then the day before. So my question is, what as wrong, was the fish indeed constipated? Could there have been something else wrong, if so what? If it was constipation, how can I prevent it from happening again. I have been trying to feed my fish vegetables, but they will not eat what I have tried so far, I tried canned peas, fresh peas, fresh cucumbers. What else can I try?

If you feed flakes, put them in a jar with a bit of water, shake well, then pour this into the tank. This gets the flake moist before the fish can eat them, reducing the problem. Make sure your flake food has a balance of nutrients, as well.

If you really think it is constipation, and they are not eating veggies, you can dose Epsom Salt. I would do this in a quarantine tank, if you have one.

ok, but I am trying to get away from flake foods, I been trying diffent vetgables, and going with frozen baby brine shrimp and frozen blood worms, live brin shrimp, and right now trying to find live blood worms.

so any suggestions for vegtables fish will eat would be apperciated (I know mine will nto eat peas and cucumbers, I have tried and they just ignore them)
and any other suggestions for live food and froozen foods would be also apperciated.

I have Red Eyed Tetras and Neon Tetras for a point of size for food to use.
