Hey was just wondering what would work well with a school of mossy barbs in a 20 gallon tank? i was gonna do a 35gallon but just picked up everything for a 20 on craiglist for CHEAP, this being my first real tank i figured smaller would be better to start. thx for any advise.

ok quick edit, after doin a lil research mossy is just a different color variation of the tiger. So ill prolly just do a mix for green, albino, and regular, what mixes well with tiger barbs?

Tiger Barbs can go well with Cichlids, Plecos, adn Bala Sharks. What you can do to achieve harmony is to have your Tiger Barbs in a big school, meaning there are quite a number of them. Since Barbs are fast swimmers, bottom-dwellers are good tankmates for them. :] Avoid having fishes with fancy tails and fins as the Tiger Barbs may play with them and nip them.

You can try danios, or other barbs too.

I have a lone tiger barb in my community tank... he is very friendly and does well

but I normally dont reccomend keeping them alone.. nor in a community tank

but mine was a wal-mart rescue.. I found him.. so tiny.. and covered in ich.. so I complained to the manager and got him for free

i would do cherry barbs instead since they're better for communites, especially for a smaller tank. I know kuhli loaches are fine with cherry barbs and so are plecos but I'm not sure a 20g is big enough for even the smallest pleco. I'd probably do 6 cherry barbs, 6 zebra danios, and 3 kuhli loaches or something like that

lol... there is MANY species of pleco that will work well in a 20g

there is even a COUPLE that will work in a 10g

usually its best to do some research before ruling out all options

I said "I'm not sure".
I thought 29g was minimum. Thanks for correcting me.
