I have a 40 gallon reef.

Right now I have, two percs and one sixline.

What would be a good addition as far as fish goes to the tank? I am trying to stay away from goby's and blennies.

Thanks

First, I would make sure you sixline won't be too aggressive to newcomers. Have you looked at any of the more peaceful basslets? Smaller dwarf angel species? Cardinalfish, like the banggai and pajama?

i'd personally stay away from fish that are to docile since they'll be going into a tank with semi-aggressive fish. i'd get something with colors you like, i love my royal gramma's color. i like the royal gramma too because it holds it's own vs. my clowns. the cardinals may be easy targets for the tank mates you have now. maybe a pseudochromis..?

The only fish that is commonly aggressive or semi-aggressive in that tank is the sixline wrasse. The clowns are hit or miss in terms of aggression. A. ocellaris and A. percula are usually very well behaved, with a few individuals deviating from the norm. However, they are not always a problem, hence my question before. The fish I suggested, assuming the wrasse isn't too aggressive, would work just fine. In fact, the angelfish I suggested would likely become the most dominant fish in the tank.

i agree on the dwarf angel.. i love the pygmy. and from my experience clowns are mean as can be. my 2 bk/wt's and my true perc are MEAN as anything and between them have killed - 2 feather dusters, 1 baby false perc, 1 firefish and 1 pygmy angelfish. so yes it many depend on the clown but i'd call all of mine very aggessive.
