I have an API freshwater test kit. I thought I was having problems cycling my tank and decided to test my tap water. According to the kit my tap water has ammonia at .50 and 1.0 ppm. The tap water has never had ammonia before. So I decided to test some bottled water... same readdings. Ammonia at .50 to 1.0. Checked another brand of bottled water, same ammonia readings.
The last 4 digits on the bottle say 01/08 -which means the ammonia test bottles should be good until 04/08.
Any ideas?
Other than get some new test bottles for ammonia.
