What would it take to make this a SW tank? Am I ready to go down this road?

Congrats on the startup. Agreed on the IDs. 1 good one bad HH.

There is also something peeking out in the top left of the last pic. Possibly another aiptasia or mojano? Either wake, you need to address them sooner rather than later. Don't stress though, unfortunately these are very common . I have never seen a tank completely aiptasia free.

Which is good and which is bad and what's the best way to address it?

Depending on who you ask, none of it.

But the mushroom isn't too bad. The Blue Cloves could be armageddon, if you don't like them and they overrun the tank. If you like them and keep them under control then they are good. The Aiptasia, I'm not sure if that is on the rock or the background of the tank, but if it is actually alive and in the tank it is bad, but not the end of the world.

Both are in the tank and alive at the moment. I'm a SW noob so I honestly don't know if any of this is good, bad or indifferent. I'm assuming the purple algae is good at least? If I'm to get rid of either of these at the moment, what is the best way to do so and what is the (potential) harm of leaving either in the tank?

If you can get a pic of what greech mentioned peeking out in the 3rd pic we can get a positive ID on that, to get rid of aiptasia you can inject it with lemon juice.

The aiptasia and possibly mojano are all I'd be worried about at the moment, not exterminating them ASAP means they can multiply, and sting fish and corals.

You all have good eyes. I didn't even notice that until I looked for it. It's on the side of the tank so it's not where you would normally see it. Here's a better pic:

Not sure if it is a Majano or Aiptasia (I think Aiptasia), but either way treatment and fate is the same.

And this is why I hate the dynamics of lighting and scale in reef tanks (and their associated pictures), because it seems like there should be two in that picture... ah well, either way. Lemon juice, kalk, epoxy, super glue, blow torch, laser...whatever works to kill it and prevent it from going into survival mode.

Still a little confused. I'm unsure which of these things is a pest and very unsure as to why they are pests. I've got

1. Bluish purple mushroom thing - good or bad? why?
2. Blue flowery things - good or bad? why?
3. Brown tentacly thing - good or bad? why?
