Would you reccommend an algae eater or a snail or two for a ten gallon tank cleaner?

I know that some of the algae eaters grow to be very big so i was thinking to just buy a snail or two instead if they do the same thing?

Also, would the snail be able to put up with a salt treatment for ich?

By the way... I have a ten gallon tank with no live plants. Right now i have one sword tail and one platy..... Sooner or later I am planning on getting 3 or 4 more fish to add to the tank.... livebearers only.....

Thank you in advance for any opinions.....

id recommend shrimps and otos as algae eaters.
if you keep up with the water change and watch your lighting you really shouldnt have problems with algae.
instead of getting algae eaters, you could buy fast growing plants to suck all the nutrients so that algae dont have enough nutrients to grow
