My 125 tang tank is lightly stocked with the following:
  • Brevis (5)
  • Altolamps (6)
  • Cyps (7)
I think, I've got plenty of room for a couple more species. What would you-all add and how many if it was your tank?

Thanks,
Russ

trets, get some tang gobys, or lelupi

i think you need to up the number of your cyp group first. and i agree on the goby cichlids. but i would only get one unless you know that they are a male/female pair because they are very aggressive twards each other, but for some reason never interact with the other species.....

yea and they need crazy water flow

More cyps if you feel comfortable spending the money. They do best in groups of 10-12 at the very least from what I have been told and you have plenty of room for more.

As for new species...guaranteed Pitt has some ideas. I'm thinking another rock dweller would do well given enough rock work.

IMO, some leleupi (the orange variant would be better) will look great in there; but I feel afraid with them and the Calvus. Pitt will clarify things about this.

Cool do some sandsifters you will be happy, a few that come to mind is of course the Callochromis, Xenotilapia types and or Ophthalmotilapia ventralis a good colony of 6 to 7 would be sweet not all of these are sandsifters but do all get to 5 or 6 inches and will fill the middle up and the sandsifters will do the bottom sand zones..

There are two places here in louisville that have these available so you could do a 2 hour road trip and pick them up for cheap..

And of course their is the Buscheri, Lelupi, and a few others that you could do but these get super aggressive and Trets are nasty fishes as well i have a large male in my 120gal predator tank i would throw one in unless you throw like 4 in so that they mess with each other..

what morph of cyp do you have? i found a morph that i thought was interesting. the utinta (idk if i spelled it right) and i found them as juvies for $5 each. thats just in my price area!
