What would you do?

I don't keep 48in T5 bulbs just lying around you know... I could probably find one if I went to the fish store, but I'm not sure if it's worth the money or if I should just ask for a new bulb. Which is, mind you, what I'm going to do.

I didn't mean buying a new one, I meant I didn't understand the logic of sending the whole fixture back when the bulb was bad. Lol
 
Yes I did. The other bulb works fine in both sockets and put in with either end up, but the 10k didn't work no matter how I put it in or where.



This is my second time buying off the net, so I'm a total newb. What's an invoice? (waits for disbelief or similar)

I do, but it came with the whole light fixture and I'm not even sure how to properly return it so yea :)

I think RN means that you shouldn't have to return anything. The company should just send a new bulb for you to replace yourself. If the fixture itself was faulty they would probably want that back but I doubt they are going to want to go through disposing of a broken bulb...you can recycle that on your own time.

I've had great experiences with F&S's customer service. My guess is they will correct the situation.
 
DFS has great customer service. I needed to return a faulty heater that fried my entire endler colony the day after I put it in (stray voltage, not pverheated) and I didn't have the invoice, so I called and they sent a return authorization label right away. They cover return shipping.
 
I would suspect that they would just send you a new bulb for free. You shouldnt have to pay anything if the bulb was bad in the first place.

I'm sure they will just send you a new bulb for free. I had a broken bulb from Big Al's and after asking me some questions like "Was the box in good shape when you accepted it?" they gladly sent me another, and it arrived in 3 days.
