I'm already attached, since they journeyed possibly across the whole country and put up with bad conditions and still survived!

Actually, the FUNNY thing is, that the plant store I purchased my plants from (located in Massachussets) buys them from another store in FLORIDA. I am leaning toward them being a killie or minnow, but have sent off an email to the plant store to see if they can help me by telling me what fish were swimming around in the plant tanks. They may not know though if the eggs traveled from Florida and just sat there until I ordered the plants and had them shipped to me. These guys have been around for their short lives!

The tails are rounded for sure. Your description of their tails helped me a lot in my self-identification. lol It bugs me to now know for sure, but I'm still researching it.

Hi Jamie - No I won't be getting rid of them! I agree with you - their journey has been long and hard, and they must be super resilient fishies! I love your name suggestions! I think I'll just go with that! Hitch and Hiker! :) Thank you for helping me out there! :)
 
I'm not sure, he's cute though. Wherever you got the plants dont get them from there again :/ Got them from a pet store right?

I got them from an online store, and actually, their service, prices and shipping were EXCELLENT. I enjoyed doing business with them, and if a few stray fishies is the worst of the experience, I don't mind. :)
 
Fish Store Reply

Ok guys - got a reply from the place I bought my plants, and they claim to buy their plants from a nursery that grows the plants in a fishless environment. Then he said that they, too hold their plants in a fishless environment until they are ready to ship to customers. He bears no responsibility for the fish at all. I'm not sure whether to be disappointed or neutral about it. I don't mind the fish, but I'm CERTAIN they came from the plants because I did not put any fish of this sort in this tank. A female betta is IT, other than the snails.

Tetras don't have rounded tails
