WHAT?!!? You HAVE to hear this!

I know aquatic plant farms here in Missouri will pump water from local creeks and rivers and therefore have lots of various native fish in their growth ponds.

Yeah it makes no sense why a plant farm in FLORIDA would grow their plants in a sterile INSIDE environment when there are so many natural resources outdoors. It's obvious the fish came from Florida.

They're doing great by the way! They are enjoying actually being fed rather than having to scavenge for food too! I can't wait to learn which sex I have!

Same thing happened to me

A little fish our boys named "liza" appeared as if by immaculate conception shortly after arrival of a bunch of plants from thatfishplace.com in our tank. Just today through another thread I came to the same conclusion you guys did. A bluefin killifish. She's our favorite now, actually.

That's so awesome! So glad to know I'm not going crazy! I grabbed a new snap of one of my lil guys - either Hitch or Hiker - can't tell them apart yet! Sorry it's from the tail end. It's really hard to catch them swimming in front of all the plants in the 55.

How old is your fish?

Mine is about 4-5 months old (we noticed her at about 1/4" about 4 months ago). Yours looks extremely healthy and well-rounded! I just ordered a wide range of more killifish-specific foods and may need to relocate her to a different tank because the danios and siamese algae eaters immediately snarf up everything I put in the tank before she can get to it. I think she's basically been living on microsopic stuff she is picking off the plants. How old are yours and, besides microworms, what have you found to be their favorite foods?

They like frozen bloodworms. Thanks for the compliment! I also read that they eat plant matter, but that may not help you if your tank isn't planted. I am assuming plant matter means dead plant leaves, etc., because I haven't seen them actually eating the live plants. This may have been why and how they survived before I knew they were in there.

Since I've identified mine, they've been getting a mix of microworms (which they love) and frozen bloodworms, which they snatch up right away as well. I have read that they will refuse flake food almost every time.

Good luck!
