What's a good algae eater for a 55 planted?

agree with SAEs, or you could go for a combination for of SAEs and bristlenose catfish.

Alright here is what I did. I got 4 Otos from Petsmart. As for a digging fish, I bought a single horse faced loach. So far the Otos stuck themselves to the side, and the loach buried itself up to its eyes. I looked at an empty trumpet snail shell to find one little baby one going across the sand. I hope that is a good sign. As for the loach, I didn't just buy it on impulse. I know a bit about horse faced loaches in terms of care, the only thing I don't know is whether it will shuck up my trumpet snails. Another thing I was not sure of was if they like groups, but I did read somewhere they prefer to be alone. If I am wrong about anything I could easily make the trip back to get a few more.

If I am not mistaken, any and all kinds of loaches like to be in groups. I would consider picking up a few more buddies for the one that you have.

A little algae is to be expected on an Amazon sword, especially in a newly set up tank. What is your stocking ? How long has the tank been set up? Any pics?

Well my stocking right now is six silver dollars, 4 otos, and 1 horse faced loach. There a few small snails lurking about. The tank has been set up for weeks, but the plants have just been put in. The plants stocking includes 1 amazon sword, 1 hornwort, 1 anarcharis, and 1 dwarf hairgrass. I plan to put in tons more. Before you say the silver dollars are going to destroy my plants, I honesty don't completely mind if some plants get eaten. Expect pics tomorrow.
