What's a good Laptop to have? Laptop experts, I need now. :)

I'll look into Alienware and Dell

I want one that is good for entertainment, DVD/CD reader and burner, Windows XP,and gaming! lol one laptop that also has the capability to hook up to HDTV! What cable is that?

This is what i want in a laptop...

4GB of RAM
500 GB
Printer cable output
Sound cable output
TV output
USB's
...?

4GB of RAM <not many offer this, 3GB is much more common
500 GB <not many offer this, 80-250GB is the typical range,
think external media drive if this is inadequate
Printer cable output <Wireless or USB or use the college's printers
Sound cable output <not usually a problem
TV output <usually available as an option (HDMI is best, if available)
USB's <You usually get 2, you'll want a hub

HP & Dell are currrently good ways to go. You might also want to consider getting a tuner for the laptop & using it as your TV/DVD viewer instead of using a cable for an external device.

Try to go w/ a 0.45nm based C2D CPU (less heat, lower power use), upgrade the batteries, get a docking station or Bluetooth mouse/keyboard set (or USB - cheaper).

These are currently on sale in Costco. I have a choice to get a

I'd recommend either an HP or an IBM.

Also go for the Dual Core processor.

You might also want to make sure it has a wireless device built into it.

I have an HP Pavilion Entertainment PC.

I ordered it online from circuit city. Most stores like best buy or circuit city, have better laptop deals online.

Dual core processor. Hum.. Kay. What so good about it? (not trying to go against it)

I'll try circuit city. Give me a hyperlink to the laptop you have

Id go with that HP at Costco, Ive always liked HP. Also both of those come with a Dual Core, most PCs already come with Dual Cores anyways. Although I noticed that it comes with Vista Premium 64 bit edition, which can lead to many problems.

I purchased my Dell LT 2 years ago, no problems so far........:)

What kind of problems would you encounter when you have Vista Premium 64 bit? Can't run games? Too old? Malfunction? Doesn't work well?
