Whats a good, small schooling fish thats NOT a neon tetra?

The tank fight now is well planted, and a 55gal, but soon we're moving. I figure since we want to get a bigger tank soon, may as well wait till we move, get something HUGE (125g?) and move over the fish slowly and just break down the smaller tank after.

Right now we have:

2 clown loaches (4 inch)
3 cherry barbs
3 long finned danios
7-9 swordtails
4-7 mollies
A pleco (6 inch)
3 albino cories
a rainbow shark (black with red fins on the top, bottom and tail.. that might not be the real name)
a yellow and black stiped longish fish thats 3 inches now, but apparently grows to 10-14 (he'll move to the oscar tank once he's big)
2 dwarf guarami

hmmm... i think thats it.

but i want to add a decent size school to this tank, (well, the new one) 20-30 SMALL (1-2 inches) fishes.

thanks for all the input guys!

I'd say about 6+ tiger barbs... I have 6 of them and their schooling behavior looks so cute! :p

I'm in the same boat in that I'm looking for some smaller schooling tetras to compliment my 3 juvenile silver dollars. I currently have: 5 redeye tetras (probably going soon), 4 tiger barbs (going tomorrow), 3 SD's and 2 ottos.

Ideally I would like to have: 3 SD's, 2 Ottos, 4-5 smaller tetras. Tank is 27G. BTW, the SD's will be moved to a larger tank once they've grown a bit.

Need suggestions!
