The little snail stayed stuck to the larger one all day. Is this mating? I don't know what those threads are coming from the snails either. The little one finally let go after lights out.

yep, that would be some hanky panky right there.
you may find eggs but it's extremely difficult to hatch nerite eggs, as they have specific salinity requirements in early stages.

Well the little one may have love on its mind, but the big one kept eating the whole time, making its way across the whole front of my 55 gallon tank and half way back before they separated. If only this was possible for myself. "I'm eating. You do what you need to do."
Dangit! I just flipped on the lights and they're at it again. I don't know how these two manage to find each other in such a large tank.
probably the small one picks up on the others slime trail.... thats how snails and slugs find mates I beleive. and yeah, they're probably doing the nasty.... my nerites laid eggs all the time, though sadly none of them hatched, because as flaringshutter said they require BW to hatch.

Go pick up a 10 gallon and a bag of 5 gallons worth Oceanic salt mix from Petsmart, it's like $3, set it up brackish and see if they hatch!!! Fun! Can't wait till I can boot all these baby cichlids out of my 28 and set it up as a notell motel for shrimp and snails! Hee!
Well I haven't seen any eggs, but the third one joined in on the fun.
