Please give suggestions about what is really good kitchen "pots and pans"....

Brand names would be fine...

Thanks!

my parents have Lagostina which I loved cooking with. I was very tempted to take them with me when I moved ;) They were stainless steel with very thick bottoms. It made for less burning and more even heating IMO

At the moment I have hard anodized camping pots in my kitchen *sigh* lol Tougher than teflon, since its a chemical reaction instead of just a coating, I think. If they had thicker bases I'd be a lot happier :)

Thanks Indigo... Even heat distribution is great..

More opinions are very welcome...

For anodized, Calphalon isnt to bad. Stainless, I have some Fabreware that is pretty nice and is pretty heavy with the bottom being double layered with an air pocket seperating the two layers.

Must be looking for Xmas presents for the wife :D

I have some nice Kitchen-Aid ones. I can't tell you if they are good are not though cause they were so expensive I am scared to use them  I am weird like that. Not to mention I don't knwo how to cook.

Watch some cooking shows and see what the pros use :) Usually at the end of the end credits they list the equipment the cook uses.

Ooooh nice :D But $80 US for the smallest saucepan is a *little* out of my price range lol

All I own is vintage Revere Ware- must be the real deal.
Almost like a religion... it hangs on a pot rack and makes me very, very happy!
I think it reminds me of my childhood- and some of the pieces are about that old.

I have the Revereware, too. It's affordable and sturdy, but you must get the classic style. It's thicker than their new lines. My mom replaced her set after 20+ years, but she didn't buy the classic, and they didn't hold up. I've had the classic style for 4 years now (wedding present,) and it's doing great. I use them almost daily.
