What's the best fertilizer?

Dry ferts are the way to go if you are willing to takke the leap into mixing them up yourself. But I fyou had to get a ready made fertilizer, I would get either Seachem's Excel or Flourish.

But the occasional dosing of excel is enough for a low tech setup. Much easier IME...
all that is is just a liquid carbon. which even diy co2 would be better. excel really isnt a fert per say maybe its a high light tank? even some low light tanks need ferts.... like Fordtrannyman said really have to have more info before anyone can say much at all.

I agree that we need more info but I found that with low light tanks the plants don't need much of a fertilizer at all...but if this tank is beyond 1.5 wpg I would still say dry ferts.

Well, unfortunately I didn't see your replies b/c I went to the store pretty quickly but I came home with Flourish Excel. lol Next time I'll keep your suggestions in mind. The tank's 15g, and has 15w of light (I think lol). I got 2 new plants, Ludwigia and a sword plant. :) Should that be suffecient?

No! That is not enough light for either of those plants.
