Whats the best shipping for live fish for next day arrival? I want to send around 20-25 baby fish and its going to cost $30 for the package and theres only going to be half a gallon of water, and its regular postal mail. So whats the best shipping for next day arrival for live fish?

Oh yeah, im going to ship him baby mosquito fish. Can i do 2 days shipping for this kind of fish or is it better to do next day arrival? I need to send the fish to Houston, TX. I will also add a few live plants to make some oxygen for the fish.

I would send fedex because they take better care of their packages vs. UPS. I have 2 friends that work for UPS, and they drop packages all the time, however, one of them used to work at Fedex. He dropped one package then got fired.

Both friends that work at UPS tell me to ship Fedex. Funny, Huh?

Fedex cost $60 for next day arrival and theres only going to be half a gallon of water. Fedex is to expensive, my friend wont want them if the shipping is going to be $60 lol.

Why not just USPS Priority? If you can fit it into a Flat Rate Box, it wouldn't be more than $9.

Mosquitofish aren't exactly sensitive/fragile.

Will 20-25 baby Mosquito fish survive in half a gallon of water with a few plants in there for 2 days?

live plants do not produce oxygen in darkness (inside a box). The consume oxygen in darkness and produce CO2. you're actually making things worse with the plants. plants produce O2 through photosynthesis, which requires light.

the only time plants are helpful in shipping is with shrimp that need something to cling to.

I've always shipped shrimp with loose filter floss rather than the typical java moss. Figured it was more economical on my end.

Mosquitofish will be fine with 2-3 day shipping.
