I have two german blue rams and I notice that they are not getting fed as of recent and when the flakes reach the bottom they spit them out. They don't like the new life therma A sinking pellets either. I notice one of them has become aggressive towards some of my platys when they swim down to the bottom. What foods should I feed them and what is the best way for them to get the food since they swim at the bottom? I know from reading around they can be hard fish to keep but I would definitely like to keep them.

I use a worm feeder with blood worms, I opened up the holes a bit with a pair of small cutters. This works well for me, the blood worms stay in the feeder and don't go all over the tank.
My rams love blood worms.

try feeding in two areas, thats what i do. I use flakes and floating/slow sinking foods on one end for the top feeders/live bearers and then i use the other stuff on the other side. Everyone gets fed. you can also just feed a very large amount, but that leads to lots of snails and dirty tanks

I feed mine live blood worms. After they become comfortable in the tank they should eagerly come up to the top at feeding time. Mine won't eat flake; they pick it up and spit it out just as you have described and won't pay any attention to pellets.

My dude eats flakes, bloodworms, and algae wafers, top, bottom, doesn't matter...He goes up top for the flakes, makes a heck of a pop when he goes for em.
