whats the world coming to?

I used to be a member of the NRA....and my husband and I were in a silhoette shooting league....(my best score was 38 out of 40 :D )

But...the kids came and the range started charging more and more for membership.....ammo prices went up...oh well, it was fun while it lasted !

Lol, EMG..I used to trapshoot. Never very good, but I could knock a few down. Hubby shot league, and I'd shoot in the practice rounds or the Annie Oakleys.

It's a great sport.....loads of fun and good people involved in it.

BTW....those last two shots I missed....were the very last two rams at 100yds.....I couldn't believe I was going to get a perfect score and I CHOKED !!! This was free standing BTW...and I think I was pregnant with my first child...lol...

Shooting trap at 100 yards? Kinda far for a shotgun.

Oh, I guess I got mixed up.

I never shot silhoulette, I only used a 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper

Yeah, silhuette is different targets at different distances..... chickens at 25, pigs at 50, turkeys at 75 and rams at 100 yards. (they were metal swinging targets...lol..not live) Shot in a free standing position with a .22 target rifle.

The turkeys at 75 yards were the hardest to hit....very small target for that distance. My average on those was about 5 out of 10...an occasional 7 or 9...(VERY occasional !) I don't remember if I ever got all of them though...

I was a pretty good shot....lol.....would like to get back into it but it just costs too much with range fees and ammo and all.

Did you use one of those competion rifles? The ones with the really thick barrels?

Yeah, it was a silhouette rifle.....with scope

I had to go back and edit the score on those turkeys...lol....it's been about 16 years since we did this and I'm quite sure that I didn't get 7 of those turkeys as often as all that...they really were quite a challenge ! the rams at 100 were a bit easier, more of a target to hit, even though they were that much farther away...
