I pretty new to this. After months of getting a tank ready I finally got one of these and two clown fish.

Because I'm in China I couldn't find out what it's called and what and how much to feed it. They mentioned shrimp but I need to know how to feed it.

Any help would be much appreciated.

sure is, any idea where its from?

they are notoroius for being almost impossible to keep....

BUT, there has been a flood of aussie. species that seem to be doing very well in opposition to common indo species.

mos def try and find out as much as you can...

No idea.

To be honest, I wouldn't bother asking in China. They'd probably have no idea and tell me anything.

It is the most beautiful I've ever seen in real life. Quite large at about 10" in a ball. The cost? about USD 23.00

I heard they sting but handled it and it just seemed a bit sticky. The clown love it and play endlessly.

Anyone know the best way to care for them. How and what to feed?
Also I heard they don't like too much light on one site and they like a lot on another?

Thanks for all your help.

I feed my elegance coral frozen brine shrimp. I just separate the pieces a little in the tank so they thaw first.

Be careful with the clowns using it as a host. The elegance isn't an anemone and won't react the same way. They are more of an irritation to it than anything else and eventually will cause it to recede and die

Thanks for the replies.

Can you suggest how much shrimp and how often?

Also, can I put something in their for the clowns to attract them away from it. They spend all day in there at the moment.

This came out of an established display tank which included the rock, coral and clowns. All went from water to water because I was paranoid about causing a problem in my tank. That established tank has had clowns in there for 2 years that I know of and they always seems to be attracted to this one.

These are first to go in this tank. What would you suggest for water changes.
I use only RO water and I a bit paranoid the nitrit will increase. Nitrit seems to be the biggest battle here. I have a good RO unit but must be something in the water it can't get rid of.
