what's this??

I will have to go with the previous 2 posts and make it a third agreement to that. And also remember, having snails is not a bad thing. Snails are actually good for your tank, nice cleaners. I personally prefer Malasyian trumpet snails, nice burroweres that appear at night. :)

FW limpets aren't that common in the trade, but SW limpets are very common--all my tanks have several that come in on live rock. I'd like FW limpets--they tend to reproduce slower than snails, stay smaller than most, and are excellent grazers.

where do you actually get snails that you want? ive just tried to control what i feel are pest snails (pond snails) while getting other snails (ramhorn) that i think look cool from the local fish store, they all seem to want to get rid of them. So if i was to go looking for a trumpet snail or whatever, do you buy them, take them.... get lucky with plants, i duno...

WOW!

you guys are great!! it really looks like freshwater limpet! i just dont know how they ended up in my tank since i dont have plants in it! BUT... i did add a driftwood a couple of weeks ago. Could it have been the "entrance" to my aquarium???

one of my LFS gives away trumpet snails with every fish/plant purchase.
