Something is wrong with my betta
The scales around his head are swollen or puffy and look as though they've been compacted with powdered sugar - that's the best way I can describe it. It doesn't look like ick, it's not white spots and it's not fuzzy. I'm at a loss of what it could be, I've never seen a sick fish look like this. Other than looking a little ugly, he's acting fine - eating well and active. Any idea what could be wrong?
I've isolated him in a 5 gal and just started treating him with malachite green but I really don't know if it will do him any good. Here's a pic, sorry it's a bit fuzzy, but you can see how his scales look puffy with white stuff compacted inbetween.
Thanks for any help!
