Hello everyone, I haven't been on AquariaCentral in some time, everything is going fine with my tank except for one thing. My java ferns and java laces have recently acquired some kind of illness. I can only speculate on thing- I recently moved home from the summer and maybe it's due to the change in water sources? That's all I know of. My setup/routines are as follows:
-2.5 minibow
-1 male betta
-gravel substrate
-no supplements
-weekly ~50% water change
-tank established ~2 yrs
-water temp. ~72*F
-10W fluorscent natural lightbulb
-Amm/Ite/Ates: 0/0/4-6
-Use 6 drops of Prime w/ea water change...bottle says approx. 4 for my size tank, but just to be sure (have been doing this for probably a year)
The plants are all alive, but as you can see in the photo, the 'leafy' part has disintegrated, leaving only the 'veins'. My driftwood, java moss, and my Dwarf Sags all seem fine and don't seem to be infected. Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions as to what's going on? I used to use ferts when I first started the tank, and the plants all seemed to thrive w/o the ferts, so I have stopped using them, probably about the past year and they have been thriving and growing and I always have to prune them all back about every 3-4 weeks until now, the past week, I've noticed this coming on. I've never had any outbreaks of fungal or bacterial diseases in this tank. My betta lives happily alone. I don't know what has come on since nothing in my routine has changed. Any ideas? Photos to follow. Thank you in advance.
