I put some java moss a while back in my tank and im having some problems with it...its growing pretty well, i have it attacted to a rough rock and some driftwood..the problem is, its not growing around the objects, its growing straight up into the water where it gets either ripped off by passing fish or pushed away by currents in the tank. Whats the problem here??

Often you have to help a plant grow where you want. Don't forget that pretty much all plants grow towards the light, especially the stem and free floaters.

Usually plants grow upwards when they aren't getting enough light, hoping to grow above the competition. Whereas they grow laterally when they have enough light, hoping to stake out acreage before another plant can. You want the latter case.
Otherwise, if you grow it on a twig of driftwood, you can rotate the stick like a spindle and wind the moss around it!

I think im just going to take it out of my tank...its really making a mess and is constantly clogging up my intake tube on my filter and powerhead.
