ok, so I woke up this morning and saw that one of my tiger barbs eyes is enlarged and like almost twice the size of the other one, does anyone know what could cause this?

thanks......

Could be pop-eye. You might use google to look up pop-eye and see if it sounds like it. Then, you can look for a treatment. Best of luck.

Popeye, from what I found on the net, can be caused by anything from bacterial to viral to an air bubble trapped behind the eye.

My gourami had it and I treated with Maracyn 2. It is a week long treatment but he recovered fine.

thanks for the advice, I think you might be right, gonna look into medicating now... found the info on Maracyn, it says it wont interupt the biological filtration, but it says use of a hospital tank is recomended, but I dont have so my big question is if I put this stuff into the tank, will it affect the cycling process? tanks been cycling for about a month now....

thanks again

When it says it won't affect the biological process it is talking about the cycling process. So it should do no harm to it. But if you tank is still cycling I believe the medication says to not do water changes and this could be hard on your fish. If your nitrites are still high I would add a tsp of salt per gallon of water. This will help the fish should the nitrite levels strat to climb during the treatment.
