I'd have to jump right into a 300 gallon tank if it's my dream tank. As far as stocking . . . . I've been discovering a whole new grouping of fish at ***********, so need more time!!!!:grinyes:

Another bichir lover here- I got two in my 55 and they are wicked fun to watch. I just have senegals and they are always active. The hand feed and have a ton of personality, if you could call it that! One is the bichir version of Homer Simpson (personality/intellect wise) and the other one takes after Bart. Can't go wrong there, and you will still have room for an awesome centerpiece- maybe a severum? Pim cat(s) or cories could be a cool bottom occupant- yoyo loaches are aways fun too. Make sure you have some decent caves!
I'm personally VERY happy with the stocking in my 55g tank. I've got a LOT of plants, most of which are really beginning to boom. I'm running out of real estate on the sand... The tank itself is quite a bit of work, but WELL worth it in my opinion.
i enjoy my stocking in my 55g but its only temporary before i upgrade this summer. i have 2 severums, a small datnoid, syno cat, and a royal pleco. i have a senegal and delhezi in a grow out that will go in the 55g before i upgrade probably. when i upgrade i will either put discus, tropheus or mbuna/peakocks in the tank
