Man i dont know about you guys, but my elec bill comes out between 50 - 80 bucks every month during winter, 60 - 120 in the summer tops for a whole house 4 bedrooms and 5 ppl living in it. I have 5 tanks, all with light and filters, 3 of them with heaters.

I am going to make my BF read this. He complains every month that my tanks are costing to much to run. We pay between $60 and $90 a month in the winter and that is mainly when we run the space heater or airconditioner. You all pay outrageous money for utilities! I guess that living in San Diego has perks after all.
Winter is the 3.8 cents per kwh, and summer is 7.8 cents per kwh. I didn't specify the summer rates, but I did the calculation, so my yearly average is correct.
