What's your biggest fear?

Wyoming is beautiful. My wife and I honeymooned at Yellowstone. Awesome. We drove there from here. Passing through parts of Montana as well. I love the mountains. We vacation near here at Lassen Park and Lake Almanor. Chester, the main town has a pop. of around 6000. Napa Valley, where I live, has a pop. of 100,000+. I've lived here all my life, but the older I get the more I hate it. The only saving grace is that I can look out my kitchen window and see the mountains clearly. Makes me smile as I drink my coffee. Montana or Wyoming is really where I want to be...everyday. It's just so hard when your "planted". Someday, hopefully. A closely related fear is that I won't have enough time to get there and I won't live long enough to realize that dream.

I know I'm late and haven't read many of the previous posts but...
Alzhiemers (sp?)...my memory isn't that great, I mean, it's o.k., but sometimes I forget stuff I didn't want to forget. I'm only 35 and I know it happens to everyone but can't stand the thought of not knowing my own kids, wife, family. My wife and I watched "The Notebook" the other night...guy has to read the story of his life to his wife who doesn't know who he is except for every now and then she'll remember for like 5 minutes, then it's back to "who are you"? He reads the same story to her every day though. Kids and grandkids come to visit her and they have to introduce themselves every time. I hate to admit it, but I :sad like a girl. Yeah, it was sad, but that scares the sh*! out of me!

Funny thing Beviking, I was just thinking the same thing a couple of days ago. I am really forgetfull too and I was thinking that I don't want to lose precious memories when I get older. But, short term memory (like what we have) and Alziemers and dimentia are different animals. There's a good chance you will retain your current capacity to remember into old age :)

Crowds. Don't know if you'd call it a fear or neurosis. Sometimes it's debilitating. I don't like to go to restaurants, grocery shopping, shopping in general, or anywhere there is more than a few people. I dream of one day moving to a mountain town of 3000 or less and having 20+ acres and little cabin-type house.

Joseph ~ My husband and I go to Disney every year, and there are always crowds of people and it never bothers me... until this past trip we were walking down a walkway trying to leave the park, but the nite parade had just ended so there were throngs and throngs of people trying to leave the park. We were literally being pushed towards the exit, not even really walking on our own. I started to totally panic and my husband had to hold me around the waist and we pulled off to the side and waited for the crowd to subside. It was so scary, I just felt like stuck or squished or something, I don't know, it's hard to explain... ugh. On the flip side, I could never live in the 'country' or the 'boonies'... I have a hard enough time imagining living out in the suburbs!!! Oh, CUTE dog!!

Lila ~ That's a huge fear of mine, huge. I saw the movie about Adam Walsh waaaaay back, and it's always stuck in my mind. Even before I had my son I felt the pain of his parents, and now that I am a parent, it hurts me even more... That's why my son, as much as he hates it, is NEVER allowed to walk around a store (grocery, department, mall)... he is always in a stroller or shopping cart, despite the fact that he's almost 3 (he always asks if he can "walk and hold your hand mommy like a big boy")... all it takes is for him to slip away for a second, and scoot over to the next aisle.... oooh it gives me shivers just thinking of it...

I have to agree with spiders. Also ladders!! I am scared to go up them! (Although i have been up 3 steps on my step ladder!)

My weirdest fear has to be swimming in the deep end of a swimming pool in case a shark gets me!! :o

I live in Scotland and our waters are only warm enough for shopping trollies!!!

Hey Shaz, you reminded me! I did actually get over a fear of heights. I decided that this was a fear I was willing to face and went to Moaning Caverns in California and rapelled 150' down into a cave. I was terrified, but I did it, and now I have no problems with ladders or anything like it.

I am completely unwilling to do whatever it might take to rid me of my fear of spiders, however. Nope, no way.

Alzhiemers can be linked to high concentrations of aluminum in the brain.

Check contents of your deodorant. It can be absorbed, into the bloodstream.
