Whats your Day Job?

Cucumis melo breeder for a commercial seed company.

It's a mixture of molecular & cellular biology, pathology/microbiology, logistics, database design, import/export specialist, statistics, phenotyping specialist, farming, sales, and don't forget the genetics. It keeps the brain working.... on overdrive. Lots of fun too.

I find staring at my fish very relaxing.

Good Knowledge. My service manager doesn't ask why I need so many samples of membranes, filters, bulk carbon, and DI resins. He knows the drill. :)

But it is about 40 seconds as my House, PSI is not the best. (but wait till I get that booster pump!)

Hehe - somehow, I thought it'd be lots faster than one of my $$$$ lab rigs. They're good for just over 1L/min, but it's uber-clean water (>18M-Ohm-CM, 1-10ppb TOC, depending on the unit, day of the week, etc.). [/hijack]

I am a housewife / home school teacher mom person. I pretty much do everything while my husband brings home his paychecks. He's a computer technician who works for the cable company troubleshooting modems mostly, but recently has been doing the fiber optics stuff.

I do not miss going to work at all and am totally loving being home and getting to really bond and spend time with my son. He's 12 and I worked very hard, long hours doing payroll and then mortgage loan processing until 6 years ago. Started the home schooling 2 years ago.

I am a broadcast designer for CNBC.

I also own a design studio that does corporate design as well as super high end wedding invites/baby announcements/etc.

My evil counterpart (FishRdelish) is an Oracle Apps DBA Manager for HBO.

Mostly a mom but I do work in a Broadway theater on the weekends.

High end residential contracting. Basically gutting $600,000.00 + homes and rebuilding them. $20 - 30,000.00 cedar decks. etc. Anything that people with lots of money want to pay for I build for them. You DO get what you pay for.

.....where I live, $600,000 wil barely buy a 2/2 in a border-line neighborhood.......

I'm a librarian/researcher/database manager for an accounting & tax firm. :)

But I'm slacking most of the time :)
