How about visiting a cemetery and paying some respect to the fallen from over the years that have given you the freedom you enjoy today? Or visit a facility that is caring for our current folks that are maintaining it and providing it for future generations, regardless of the country they are in?

Anything but describe/celebrate this as a party down, lets get drunk festivity?

I stated I was heading to the VFW to have a beer with my son. I am a vet and so is he. Does that count?

That is excellent. My son and I both served with the 82nd Airborne Div.

Well... no. I don't have any graves to visit or relatives who are vets of any wars. I do, however, plan to have a moment of silence at noon (that's also when I plan to wake up) as the most respectful thing I can think of.

Doesn't hurt to visit there and pay some respect to those who gave you the freedom to do as you wish. How can a moment of silence at noon as you awake show any respect...I find your post completely disrespectful as this thread started out as.
