Finding cat hair in my tank. Found out the cat was sticking her paws by the HOB filter and cleaning her paws in the tank water AFTER she used her litter box.
I covered the opening near the HOB filter and that was keeping her out. I still found her cat hair in the tank.
Last night at 3am I heard her opening the lid to the tank and then cleaning her paws. I have duct taped the lid shut!!
Bwahaha. My male cat has recently become very interested in my 10 gallon which is holding my danio fry. I have seen him try and stick his paw in the tank (there is a small opening in the back where my filter is). He is the devil, but you know how cats are! :SaiyanSmilie_anim:
Worst tank experience is happening currently. Got my 55 up and running, settings perfect, got it stocked, and started "missing" fish. My danios, seemed to disappear daily. After much snooping I finally realized that my XP1 canister filter (first one i have every owned) is actually sucking them up into the canister :wall: So I fix the problem, and now my cory cats are slowly dying. They are loosing their front barbs and within the day they are dead. I am not sure WHY they are loosing their barbs as I have sand substrate and no aggressive fish in my tank.
The only problem with the spray bottle is, it works when I'm here, but when I'm not here, the cat is smart enough to figure out there is no one to squirt her with the bottle. So I use the squirt bottle when i'm here, and when I'm not, duct tape.

Forget the spray bottle, let her have a swim! She won't go back!!! Remove the lid totally for a day - see what she does! Oh, and btw, if you happen to catch her, PUSH HER IN!!!
