I was wondering what to do when a fish dies. Brief scenario... I am 6 weeks into a fishy cycle Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0.25, Nitrate between 5&10,ph stable at 7.2. I do 60% daily water changes. 10g tank Started with 2 small comets, after two weeks added 1 fantail, 1 black moor and 1 oranda. These are all juvenille fish and will be moved into bigger housing if they live long enough to grow. 16 days after adding the 3 fish the oranda died. Seem to develop buoency problems. Then 4 days later I bought another one and here 2 days ago I noticed signs of dropsy. He is not in very good shape at the moment, floating upside down. Here is the problem I don't have a hospital tank so he is in a lillte breeder net thing in my tank. Both of the orandas came from the same tank at my LFS, and when I was in for some supplies about a week ago, there were 2 in the tank that were still alive, but floating on their side at the surface. What should I do to make sure my other fish don't die. My tank has been salted all along because of nitrites during cycling. Should I get some meds for internal parasites, just in case. Hate to do that,if I don't have to.All help would be greatly appreciated.
