Hey, I have some Red Devil cichlids that are a few months old and almost 2 inches long and I'm wondering if anyone knows when they start to get colour. Both parents were orange, the female may have had some white on her but i cant remember. As of now, all but a few are still greyish with the verticle bars and black dot in the middle of their body. I know that's their natural colour in the wild, but since both parents were the "gold" variety I assumed all the offspring would be aswell. Does anyone have an experiance raising RD's?

I'll get you some pics to show you what I mean. They seem to be doing fine, although I'll admit it is pretty crowded. I do have a 20-40 gallon filter running full out in a 15 gallon tank and at least weekly 25% water changes, I try to do them more often than that though.

I kinda suck at the whole attatchment thing, but if it worked than the first one is of the grey colour with the bars I mentioned. The second is of one that is changing colour, they get pinkish and get random black markings over their body. The third is of the largest one who has already gone through the black marking stage and is all pinkish, there are also some of the other stages in the third picture. The fourth picture is just of all of them. Im moving them to my 75 gallon soon so they have more room to grow, Im waiting for my jack dempsy to recover from a beating she recieved from the adult RD I had in with her.

PS-after looking at them I realized that only a few are close to two inches
