When should I add fish?

I started my aquarium Thursday night. I used live sand and live rock. Can I add some fish and corals today?

Most likely not -- you have to wait for it to cycle (which it probably hasn't yet). Do you have test kits (ammonia, nitrIte, nitrAte) to test for the nitrogen cycle? If you add fish / corals to your tank prematurely (i.e. -- before there's 0 ammonia, 0 nitrIte, and only a small amount of nitrAte (< 10 ppm)), you'll likely do nothing more than kill them and be wasting your money.

I agree with fsn. I used live rock and sand to set up my tank and still waited 8 weeks before test results showed correct levels.

please take ur time and spend ur time u have waiting on reading books about the fish u want...sometimes that makes it worse but ull learn so much. id wait at least a week after the cycle is done to add fish and at least a month for inverts, beside clean up crew, and corals
