When will my nitrites go away???

Its been at constant 2.0-4.0 ppm for 8 days now. My ammonia-eating bacteria has been established already eating about 1.0 ammonia each day. My nitrate reading is at constant 10 ppm and since Im getting nitrate readings then that means I have little amounts of nitrite-eating bacteria in my tank right? But wth don't they reproduce every 8 hrs or so, whats taking them so long? Btw my cycling is going on for 2 weeks now and I used bio spira to speed it up but I guess it only had ammonia-eating bacteria in there.

LoL I want to buy my fish now! It's so depressing watching a tank with no fish in it.
 
my nitrites spiked for about 2 weeks. good luck and wait it out.

and i think the biospira you bought wasn't good, because it normally should do the job.
 
Going through the same as you now on my cycle...I can dose ammonia to 3ppm and it is gone in 24 hour period.....nitrites staying around 2-3ppm and nitrates at 7-8ppm ....just a waiting game I guess for now.

I think I can wait another week... if it still not cycled after that I might buy another biospira

How long have you been cycling your tank now?
 
Going on my 5th week (5 weeks this Wednesday) ....So I feel your pain double on not having fish in my tank. I just went the adding ammonia route without the bio-spira. I couldnt make myself spend the almost $30 to get it so thought I would just wait it out.
 
I would wait I know it is very hard to see an empty tank. You are doing a fishless cycle right...I am not sure how a fishless cycle works since I did fishy cycles but I know with fish cycles water changes will help to reduce the nitrites not sure if that is the case with a fishless cycle. Good luck you'll get there.

In fishless cycles water changes arent neccesary for the most part until time to add your fish. It is just a waiting game to let the nitrates build up enough to consume all the nitrites.... so constantly having to feed the tank ammonia to feed nitrites so nitrates can be established to combat the rising nitrite levels.
