Where are those shrimp?

I dont know. I just assumed that they were really cheep. I did not pay much attn. I think they may have been 5 for a $.

ive never really noticed a lot of difference in ghost shrimp. but i get mine from feeders supply and they tend to live pretty long. tank mates are a big deal, so depending on what you have, they might be getting eaten. but if you watch them and keep count on how many you have left, they can suprise you. i have 3 or 4 in with my red eared slider, and they are HUGE. since they're such good hiders, they've avoided getting eaten for 5 months now.

on the dead vs. molting thing, when ghost shrimp die, they turn pink and are no longer translucent. Molted shells are still translucent. Got a bunch myself, and when one died, it was scavenged within 2 days. Day 1 I saw the pink corpse, day 2 only the shell was left.

The last one died. I found out someone had pluged in the other heater that I was letting cool before taking it out. I guess they could not handle the temp. The fish are fine though. The shrimp did a good job of cleaning. Its only been a few days since the last ones died and my gravel is dirty. I just got a snail and put it in. If I dont see a diffrence in a bit I guess I will get more shrimp.

I decided on my way home, since I was passing my lfs, to pick up some shrimp. I have been out all day and am tired. I went to pour the shrimp in and totally missed the tank only 2 went it. I saw one squirming on the rug, threw him in. I did not see any more flapping and they are clear but I managed to find 1 more. I had found 4 but I could not remember how many I had got. Found the receipt and it did not say. So I called and they said I had gotten 5. One was still missing I felt bad and decided I was going to search until I found its body. Then I noticed the rubbermaid container that I keep some of my fish junk in had a few drops on it. I looked inside and moved some stuff around. Then I saw something sticking out from under a paper. I lifted the paper and there the shrimp was motionless. It had been a few mins I figured it was dead. I gave him a poke and he squirmed. Yay! It took me a bit to get him out, I had to slide him up the wall. I threw him in and he was fine. All my shrimp are now in the tank and doing well.

they could have easy have ate the shrimp.

your wrong dude,
ive kept neons and shrimp together for about 7 years and have Never lost any shrimp to the neons, apart from the fact the shrimp are bigger than the neons, they have a hard outer shell which even my tiger barbs couldnt get through

what is your temp. at now cuz earlier u said 80 something my concern is that neon's come from cooler waters mid to upper 70's is better for them.Cardinal tetras do better in the 80"s temp. range it is also to warm for ghost shrimp.Try amano shrimp if u must keep your tank that warm.

Its 81 now. The only other type of shrimp I have seen are Bamboo shrimp.

this may sound crazy, but when they die, they turn pink, last night i saw mine glow, the dead one. weird. it was a nice bright greeen. and for some reason, mine are dieing too.
