I will be getting some shell dwellers this week for my 58-gallon tank and I was wondering where I can get Neothauma tanganicensis shells. Is there an online place that I can purchase them from? Thanks.

Do you want those exact kind of shells or do you jsut want shells for your shell dwellers?
I bought old snaill shells from my LFS and went to teh craft store and bought a bag of sea shells.
There are some places taht sell the specific shells used in the lake but i can't remember where i saw it.

i could get you some, but they arent very cheap. the fish do like them more though, i have about 10 shells for my 2 gold occies and 2 pearly occies, they have selected the 4 neothauma shells out of the 10 and if scared will dart to them, not the snail shells. but they definitely arent necessary.
about 2.50 each unless you are buying alot then they are cheaper. shipping will be cheap since they arent alive or anything.

Do you think Turbo shells would work instead of Neothauma shells? I was also wondering if anyone has some pictures of escargot shells. Thanks

almost any shell will be just fine. just dont get shells that are really big thinking they will like the space. mine wont even consider them, they love the shells that are just the right size.

I ordered some from "the cichlid store" I cant remember thier website. A few cichlid sites carry them I believe. Try doing a google search and see if there are any sites that sell them.
