Where could I find pond containers locally?

The drawback to the stock tanks are thier size. I dont think they make one much bigger than a couple hundred gallons.

I second Tractor Supply Company, they always carry differnet sizes. They had a 40 gallon stock tank that's a great size for a water garden. unfortunately there's not a TSC in Oregon. Like other folks I've also seen them at local feed stores, although they tend to carry bigger ones in my neck of the woods. They should be able to order you one in a size you like.

I'd consider placing it in a shaded area and painting the outside a lighter color to help keep it from getting so hot.

I've used a 20 gallon rope tub and put in Rosy Red minnows. Not very fancy but easy to get a hold of and deep enough that it will keep from getting really hot at the bottom if it's not in direct sun. I just got a 45 gallon pop-up pond that will hopefully work out OK. Maybe you could find one of those.

I have decided to start a better pond than the kiddie pool I had a month ago. I recently saw a large rubbermaid container at a local pet store full of Water Lettuce and Water Hyacinth and it was gray, about a half inch thick and had 300 gallons capacity. I asked the dude where he got these and he said they were there when they moved into the store.

So now I'm looking for places around town where they have them. Does anyone know what kind of stores sell these? :help:

PS. The water lettuces were about a foot wide and had about 6 daughter plants and they sold for 2 dollars each. :lipssealedsmilie:
thats weird, i just got one today, my local garden center is goin out of biusness and they were giving them away, so i took one to make a pond out of it im goin back to get 5 more just to have them around. BTW type in 300 g, rubbermaid containers and they would pop up and there about 250.00-300.00 dollars new.

I could be wrong, but I think Menards carries them. The time that I have to go to work there,Wednesday, I will check it out for you
